About
Hello Folks, I'm Jared Bogle. I play Irish Fiddle.
I grew up and live in the beautiful Northeast Georgia mountains, but it's the music of Ireland that has always caught my ear. From the reels and jigs to the polkas, barn dances and airs, from the tunes and style of the southern counties of Kerry and Cork right up to the northern tip of Donegal, I've always loved the beauty and life, the soul, the fun, the simplicity, the intricacy, the robust warmth of Irish music, and there's nothing I enjoy more than getting to share it with folk like you.
I began playing fiddle when I was twelve or so, inspired and taught by my older sister Mandy. I never took regular lessons, but grew up listening to recordings I loved and doing my best to learn how to make all those quirky, expressive sounds I loved. The Irish music community is such a gem, and over the years I've been so blessed to have the instruction, encouragement, advice and friendship of so many of the musician's I grew up admiring.
Over the years I have dabbled in recording, writing tunes, spent countless hours playing, practicing, and exploring on my fiddle; but the thing I really love is actually getting out and sharing the music I love with you. I do have a bit here on my site, so please do have a look around, make yourselves comfortable, and enjoy! But most of all, whether in a home or on stage, or maybe just on a sidewalk somewhere, I look forward to the privilege of meeting you and sharing this music with you face to face.
Until then,
Cheers,
Jared Bogle
